Herald/Review Media, along with our community sponsors Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, Legacy Foundation and ApexNetwork Physical Therapy are proud to present the 5th Annual Academic All-Star & Golden Apple Awards! As you are very well aware, quality education leads to our youths’ success as leaders, innovators, doctors, nurses, scientists, marketers, entrepreneurs, teachers and so many more ways our children will contribute to society. As publisher of Herald/Review Media I strongly believe in recognizing academic achievement as well as those who spend countless hours teaching, mentoring and being a role model for students.
As a parent with children in one of the Cochise County school districts I know the past two years have been challenging for educators, students and parents.
All schools in Cochise County including public, charter, parochial and home schools can nominate students and educators to be recognized not only for their academic excellence, but contribution to the communities they serve.
Students from first grade through senior year can be nominated to be selected as an Academic All-Star. Up to eight seniors from area schools will be recognized. We are hoping to increase the number of scholarships presented in 2022 from six to up to eight $500 scholarships.
Top educators from elementary through high school can be nominated and selected as Golden Apple Award recipients. Specialty categories include, but not limited to, career/tech education, special education and fine arts along with paraprofessionals and other support staff that dedicate themselves to supporting, developing and educating area students for success.
A recognition awards banquet will be held March 19 with a special section in the Herald/Review County edition on Wednesday, March 23 featuring the winners.
To assist in getting the word out on the nomination period of now through February 4th. I have also included a pdf to distribute on PTO and school social media pages as well as attachments in communication with your team, parents and students. I appreciate your assistance in advance to help recognize students and educators in Cochise County. If you could use other formats to get the word out to teachers, parents, etc. please let me know.
